"Introduction to the policy of “Special Program for Continuing Education of Migrant Workers”:
1. Eligible candidates: migrant workers with outstanding work performance in Taiwan and have the potential for development.
2. Application procedure:
(1) Implementation: the Ministry of Education will base on the result of the survey on the intent of migrant workers to proceed with continuing education to coordinate with vocational and technology colleges to offer the “Special Program for Continuing Education of Migrant Workers”Assistance will be provided to match up with the offering of the program after assessing the locations of the employers of the migrant workers and the campus of these education institutions, and also the language proficiency of the migrant workers.
(2) Course description: including the departments and schools disciplined in manufacturing, construction, agriculture, and long-term care giving and a minimum of 9 course credits have to be taken in each semester.At least 30 students should be enrolled in the program.
(3) Incentives: The Ministry of Labor provides incentives for the employers to encourage migrant workers to enroll in the program. Employers may choose either “additional employment of migrant workers” or “reduced payment in employment stability fee”.
3. Window for liaison:
