The monthly salaries for foreigners engaged in the works under Subparagraph 1 of Paragraph 1 under Article 46 of the Employment Service Act shall not fall below NT$47,971 (same currency denomination below).

The salaries for foreigners engaged in the works under Subparagraphs 8-11 of Paragraph 1 under Article 46 of the Employment Service Act in the industrial sector shall not fall below the basic salary requirement set forth in the Labor Standards Act. The salaries for those engaged in housekeeping and homemaking work shall not fall below $20,000/month. The regular salaries for those engaged in mid-level technical works shall not fall below $33,000/month. The total salaries for those engaged in mid-level technical caregiving work at institutions shall not fall below $29,000/month. The total salaries for those engaged in mid-level technical housekeeping and homemaking works shall not fall below N$24,000/month.

Detail :

Works in the industrial sector are protected by Article 24 of the Labor Standards Act as extended salaries (payment for overtime duties). Payment of this kind for housekeeping and homemaking works shall be determined by the workers and the employers in full agreement and specified in the employment agreement.

For assuring the transparency of the expense burden of the migrant workers and the prevention of excessive charges for the service of job brokers and entering into unreasonable terms and conditions of service for the migrant workers after entering Taiwan, The Ministry of Labor requires that all the expenses incurred in the countries of origins of the migrant workers before entering Taiwan (including loans), and the salaries and expenses to be borne by the migrant worker after entering Taiwan shall be inscribed in the “Affidavit of Foreigners for Entry to Taiwan for Employment and Salaries in Taiwan” whereby the foreign job brokers, domestic job brokers, employers, and the migrant workers are contracting parties with the affixing of their signatures to the document subject to the verification of the competent authority of relevant countries of origin of the migrant workers. This document shall be the prima facie evidence for the local government to check if the employers have paid the migrant workers full salaries as agreed and if there is any excessive charging by the job brokers for their service.
