The employers of eligible experienced foreign workers can now apply for them to be redesignated foreign skilled workers. Industries to which the new rules apply include
•Manufacturing
•Agriculture
•Slaughterhouse work
•Institutional care work
•Construction
•Live-in care work
If you have worked in Taiwan for 6 years or longer and meet related salary and skill-based qualifications, you may also be eligible to apply for a change in status. Following a successful application
•There is no limit to an individual’s length of employment in Taiwan
•Salary requirements are higher
•Continue to receive Labor Insurance and National Health Insurance coverage
•Anyone who meets the relevant requirements and works for another 5 years, may be eligible to apply for permanent residency in Taiwan
