▍Do not throw cigarette butts on the ground, let’s protect the environment together
To maintain the cleanliness of cities and the quality of public spaces, the government reminds people when smoking outdoors to properly dispose of cigarette butts and ash, so as not to pollute the surrounding environment.
Cigarette butts and plastic filters are not biodegradable and if thrown away without consideration not only pollute the air, water and soil, but can also clog drainage systems, negatively impacting urban environments and natural ecosystems.
Littering with cigarette butts can result ina fine of NT$1,200 to NT$6,000.
When smoking, carry a cigarette butt receptacle or dispose of cigarette butts in a trash to keep the environment clean.
