▍Understanding the difference between the suspension and revocation of a driver’s license

Suspension - If a driver’s license is held by the motor vehicle authority for any reason, the individual is not permitted to drive during the suspension period. Doing so is considered driving without a license and if caught the license can be directly revoked. Once the suspension period ends, the license is returned to the driver, with its period of validity remaining the same.

Revocation - If a driver’s license is directly revoked, the individual no longer has the right to drive. In order to obtain a new license, he or she must wait until the prescribed period has passed and retake the driving test.
