▍Be aware! Buying too much medicine abroad and bringing it into Taiwan could be illegal
When foreign workers return to their home countries for a break they often come back to Taiwan with health supplements, medicine or cosmetics. It is important to know that if these products are not intended for personal use bringing in too much, reselling or posting items, could break the law
According to regulations, only limited amounts of food, medicine, medical equipment and cosmetics can be brought into Taiwan for personal use and cannot be resold
•Food in tablet or capsule form : A maximum of 12 bottles per category and no more than 36 bottles in total
•Over-the-counter medication : A maximum of 12 boxes per category and no more than 36 boxes in total
•Prescription medication : A maximum of six month’s supply of medicine is allowed, with a doctor’s prescription
•Controlled medication : The regulations are the same as those for prescription medication, but avoid purchasing medication that contains ingredients controlled under Taiwanese law
