▍Five DO NOTS when taking painkillers

Pain is the body's instinctive defense response. Reducing the intensity and duration of pain improves quality of life.

5 important reminders when taking painkillers:

•Don't take too many tablets:When using Acetaminophen (Paracetamol) as a fever and pain reliever, adults should not take in excess of 4,000 mg within 24 hours.

•Don’t drink alcohol:Avoid drinking alcohol while using painkillers to prevent liver damage.

•Don’t take with other medicine:Do not take two different medications containing Acetaminophen at the same time to avoid liver damage.

•Don’t take on an empty stomach:Long-term use of Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs can cause gastrointestinal discomfort or bleeding. As such, they should be taken with food or after meals.

•Don’t buy unverified medication:Do not purchase medication from unreliable sources. Always buy from licensed pharmacies with a professional pharmacist.
