▎The number one killer during a fire is thick smoke
Did you know that the most dangerous thing in a fire is thick smoke?
Thick smoke spreads through a building quicker and more widely than flames and breathing in smoke containing carbon monoxide and toxic gases can cause disorientation, unconsciousness and even hypoxia.
1.When a fire first breaks out leave the premises as quickly as possible; Get low to the ground (with your hands and knees on the floor and nose/mouth as low as possible) and crawl.
2.In the latter stages of a fire when one’s exit might be blocked by the flames or thick smoke, find the safest possible location, close the door for safety, get as close to the balcony or window as possible, and wait to be rescued.
