▎Individuals who work outdoors need to take precautions to avoid being stung by hornets

Autumn is when hornets breed and build their hives. It is also when they are most likely to attack.Being stung by a hornet can result in a systemic toxic reaction and in a worst case scenario cause anaphylactic shock and death.

If you work outdoors take the following precautions:

•Pay attention to whether there are hornets in the work area or structures that could be a bee hive

•Wear light-colored long-sleeved clothing with a smooth exterior

•If you encounter a swarm of hornets do not panic or attack them, slowly and carefully take a detour around the area
