Prevention of African swine fever
1. Foreign workers entering Taiwan and returning to Taiwan after taking vacations:Do not carry any pork or pork products in any forms from the African swine fever infected area when entering the country, and should you have brought any, please have them discarded into the agricultural product disposal box before customs clearance,violators will be fined up to NT$1 million; Foreign workers upon first arrival who do not obtain the Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) and fail to pay the fine on site, will be rejected for entering Taiwan.If you have obtained the Alien Resident Certificate, you still have to pay the fine after entering the country. Please be sure to follow the rules so as not to affect your work rights.
2. Foreign workers should not buy pork or pork products in any forms from African swine fever infected areas during contract period. If you receive meat from unknown sources, you can not throw in kitchen waste or trash can, please call 0800-039-131 to the specialized agency.
