▎Coverage Scope

All migrant workers in Taiwan are required to participate in Labor Occupational Accident Insurance, which should be enrolled by their employers:

According to the Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Protection Act, foreign nationals legally permitted to work in Taiwan and employed by registered business entities or employers holding employment permits are required to participate in Labor Occupational Accident Insurance, enrolled by their employers.

The insurance coverage for the aforementioned migrant workers takes effect from their date of employment.

Even if their employer fails to enroll them in the insurance and they later encounter occupational injuries or illnesses, they are still entitled to insurance benefits.

▎Insurance Benefits

The Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Protection Act offers comprehensive benefits for migrant workers:

1.Migrant workers who are legally enrolled in Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and unfortunately experience work-related accidents are eligible to claim medical care, injury or illness, permanent disability, survivor and disappearance benefits, stipulated by the regulations.

2.To apply for insurance benefits, the necessary application application documents should be submitted to the Bureau of Labor Insurance under the Ministry of Labor. For detailed information,please refer to the bureau's website.
