▍When hiking obey the rules, stay safe

Always prepare before setting out

When hiking, take equipment with positioning capabilities and communication devices for use in emergencies. Hiking team leaders must observe the following rules when in a controlled mountain area:

•Hiking activities often take place in controlled mountain areas and groups are required to have a team leader with basic emergency first aid skills and related qualifications, including a basic lifesaving or primary first aid technician’s certificate.

•The team leader is responsible for ensuring everyone in the group has comprehensive general hiking insurance.

•The team leader should lead members of the hiking group in accordance with a predetermined hiking plan. Team members must never leave the group and hike alone; if a member has a life-threatening accident, the team leader should provide emergency first aid and take responsibility for their care.

Violations of the above rules will result in related fines
