▎Do not become a scam gang accomplice
A friendly reminder to foreign workers
Never lend your ARC, passport, bank account or cellphone SIM card to a fellow countryman or anyone else, to avoid them being used to set up a dummy account or becoming an inadvertent scam gang accomplice
Allowing someone else to use your account is punishable with a maximum prison sentence of 3 years and a maximum fine of NT$1 million.
In accordance with the Criminal Code of the Republic of China (Taiwan) selling the use of one’s cellphone SIM card constitutes aggravated fraud and is punishable with 1 to 7 years in prison and a maximum fine of NT$1 million.
Such actions will also impact the rights of a foreign worker to work in Taiwan and reenter the country.
