活動訊息:Enhance publicity and track down illegal migrant workers to block epidemic control loopholes

內容:

People are worried about the migrant worker with confirmed COVID-19 will become a loophole in Taiwan’s epidemic control. The Ministry of Labor (MOL) and the Ministry of the Interior (MOI) have thus established a mechanism to reinforce the tracking-down of illegal migrant workers and enhancing the publicity of epidemic control in the native language of migrant workers through various channels, including social media, websites, radio broadcast, the 1955 hotline, airports, employers, migrant worker agents, migrant worker associations and the Taipei office of the source country of the migrant workers. The MOI has established a mechanism for investigation of unreached migrant workers and formed a national security team in collaboration with the National Police Agency, Military Police Command and Coast Guard Administration. In addition, the MOL has introduced a prize reward for reporting violations of the “Employment Service Act” to incentivize the reporting of unlawful acts and thereby prevent unreached migrant workers from becoming the loophole in epidemic control. When discovering illegal migrant workers, citizens can call the report hotline at 0800-000978 of the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) or the “1955” labor grievance hotline. The WDA has translated the related epidemic control information provided by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) into four languages: English, Bahasa Indonesia, Thai, and Vietnamese. In addition, the WDA has enhanced epidemic control publicity through various channels: Airport Migrant Worker Care Service Station, local and foreign language radio programs, SMS, Information Site of Foreign Worker Rights Defense, related MOL Facebook fan pages and migrant worker group Facebook fan pages. Employers, agents, migrant worker groups and citizens should help inform migrant workers of the related information (https://fw.wda.gov.tw/wda-employer/home/index).
